Youth Sunday 2010!

Sorry this blog hasn't been updated in quite a long while!
Anyway, this Sunday, 11 July 2010 will be our Youth Sunday. It will be the youths' day to kind of run the service. The chairman will be Jonathan So, the worship leader Joanna Chun, and Derrick Lee will give the sermon. There will be a few performances, and it will be a good chance to show the "adults" that we youths have a passion for God and we enjoy serving Him.
So do come and join us in Gereja Grace Batu Pahat, the main sanctuary, at 8.30 a.m..

YF GGBP members that are involved in Youth Sunday, we will be going for lunch after service ends! Fancy buffet lunch that is going to be great!

Easter Drama

We won't have our usual YF this Sunday, but there is an Easter Drama this Saturday in the church sanctuary. It's from 8.00 p.m. till 9.30 p.m. this Saturday, 3rd April 2010.

The drama will be very interesting as well as touching, so do come and celebrate Easter with us as well as enjoy the drama that will be presented! Don't worry if you do not know what is "Easter", come and you will find that out!

Everyone is invited, and it's free of charge! Do come and join us, the more the merrier! See you this Saturday night! ;)

YF Fund Raising Carnival 2010

Hello everybody! YFGGBP will be having a fund raising carnival to raise funds for our YF camp. The details of the carnival are:
Date: 21st March 2010 (Sunday)
Venue: Multi-purpose hall, GGBP
Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Address: 57, Jalan Ledang, Taman Bandar, 83000 Batu Pahat, Johor.

It's going to be really cool with lots of food and drinks and games. Don't worry if you haven't got any coupons though, you can buy them there on the day itself. Do come and support us, and bring your family and friends too! Everybody will enjoy it. See you then :)

Love is in the air...

hi everyone... sern wang and im back to our YF blog.. haha have been away for some time, busy i guess thanks to amanda and joanathan and derrick to keep this blog going...
last sunday 7 Feb 2010 we have Mr. & Mrs Boh from melacca to share with us their love story. What they experience and learn in their search for a partner during their youth & college years (all the love letter, admiration, rejection ... etc) and also how God who has a plan for them brought them together. it was lovely and touching to see how God works even in the area of love and realtionship in our lives. Mr. Boh also share with us from the Bible, Genesis 2:24
"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."
Mr. Boh shares that one of the main criteria or condition before we can consider to start a steady relationship is independant and responsible. this is so true... how could you take care of someone when you dont know how to take care of yourself? how can you be commited to a relationship if you can't be responsible with what you have been entrusted?.... So please make this our guide line before you enter into a steady relationship.....
i pray that God will continue to reign in our lives, every area of our lives including our love and relationship.

Bible Discovery

First of all, YFGGBP would like to thank everyone who sent up their YF logo designs. The winner of the contest will get to go for out YF camp for FREE!!!!!!!!! :)

Anyway, our program for YF today was Bible Discovery. The passage we read was John 12:20-26. And then there were 5 questions we answered in our respective age groups. The five questions are:
1. Honourable ambitions? Someone once said that we should devote our lives to things that we consider worth dying for. What is to you worth living and dying for?
2. In what way would Jesus' death be like the seed's (verses 24 and 32)
3. Why did Jesus say, "If you love your life, you will lose it; If you give it up in this world, you will be given eternal life"?
4. Consider what Jesus says about how those who follow him must live. What are the implications for us?
5. What do you need to give up today to follow Jesus?

If you didn't attend YF today, try answering these 5 questions on your own. If you have any questions, you can look for any of the advisers.

After YF, we all went downstairs for some fun and games. We played 2 new things today, namely Uno Stacko and Captain Ball.

Deadline!

Dear all YFers, please remember to pass up your "TRANSFORMING FLAME" YF theme logo design this week if you have one. If not, hurry up and go make one now! Let your creativity flow! Think of how proud you'll be seeing the logo you created on all our YF stuff, and seeing everyone wearing it on their T-shirts!!! So go make an awesome logo now, and hand it up this week! It's the deadline! 31st January 2010 :)

Team Building Program

The program of our YF today was Team Building. After the worship led by our vice-president Joanna Chun, YFers were divided into 4 groups. Groups were given a map each, and on the map, the sequence of the stations they were to go to were also written.

There were altogether 4 stations. One was where the group members were asked to stand on a chair each. The chairs were arranged in a straight line and the person right in front had to throw a water balloon to the second person without looking back and the second person would throw it to the third, right until the balloon reached the end of the line.

At another station, all the members of that group were asked to form a circle, holding the hands of the people next to you. Two game-masters from inside the circle would then try to get out of the circle by crawling, jumping, or whatever method they could think of. Sern Wang tore his trousers at this station =.=

Then there was the station where two teams met and had to challenge the other team in a water scissors-paper-stone game while another group member had a piece of wood as a shield from the water for both that person itself and the other group member playing scissors-paper-stone against the other group.

The other station game was also played two groups at a time. Each group member were given a cup filled with water and the objective of the game was to keep your cup unbroken with any amount of water in it while trying to pour the opponents' water out.

In the end, Group 1 was announced the winner and they were rewarded with a very nice bottle of Sprite!
